Enneagram Human Personality Model And Career Planning-1

Human beings are the most valuable creatures in the universe. Zero Centered Systems produce solutions for people in different areas of life by defining them. We all know the story of blind men trying to describe the elephant by touching its different parts of body. The insights of today's human resources and science to describe human beings are partial and limited. Zero Centered Systems take a holistic view and try to understand people in all aspects.

3 Potentials of Humans:

Human beings have three potentials: physical, emotional and mental. Human instincts, desires, talents and skills are associated with 3 potentials and can be grouped under these potentials.

In every person, these potentials exist at different levels. One of these potentials is dominant and one is subsidiary and the other is recessive. This hierarchical order of potentials determines human temperament.

Temperament:

It is the innate characteristics of the person. The temperament of the person affects his/her relationship with the outside world (socialization, upbringing, experiences). In the meantime, there are also macro factors that do not directly interact with the individual but affect the individual. Personality comprises of the behavior, thinking, feeling, and motifs related to the person formed as a result of all these processes.

In order to make the model understandable with an example, we can use seed-soil-climate-tree analogy. A person’s 3 potentials and the dominance of these potentials (i.e. temperament) are similar to seed. The seed potentially carries all the characteristics of the plant in it. Potentials only occur after the seed has fallen into the soil. Soil represents the environment (i.e. external world) in which the person interacts after birth.

Not every seed can grow healthy in every soil; in other words, not every seed grows in every soil. The relationship between temperament and environment reflects this situation. Climate can be likened to macro-factors that indirectly affect the individual. From the state of the sun and stars at the time of birth to the climate factors from global cultural influences have impact on the climate factors. The effect of climate factors on personality is secondary and indirect. As a result of all these interactions, the tree represents the personality.

After all, the human being is both the seed and the fruit of this tree. The tree is both a human being and all humanity. Today there is a partial understanding of human that is more concerned with the leaves and branches of the tree.

Potentials and Personality:

Physical Potential represents the dimension of human movement and action

Emotional Potential represents the dimension of human emotions and feelings

Mental Potential represents the dimension of human logic and conceptualization.

The dominant potential determines the temperament and therefore the personality of a person. People can be classified into 3 in general: Physical Potential dominant people, Mental Potential dominant people, and Emotional Potential dominant.

These 3 groups are divided into 3 sub-groups:

• 3 different personality types with physical potential dominance,

• 3 different personality types with emotional potential dominance,

• 3 different personality types with mental potential dominance,

As a result there are a total of 9 different personality motifs.
