How To Raise Successful Children?

What exactly do we want for our children?

At least it is possible to say that most people want their children to be healthy, happy and successful people in life. If there is any way a parent can provide a brighter and better future for their children, it is certainly the motivation to believe that we will pass it on to our future generations.

So how can we provide a better future for our children?

Do parents have any contribution to how successful their children will be?

How can we protect our children? How can we guide them? How can we make them lead a good life?

Instead of putting all the responsibility of ensuring that our children live a healthy, happy and successful life on our own shoulders, what would happen if we let them choose their own path after ensuring that they are adequately equipped?

It is true that there is no guide to being a good parent, but can there be a guide to raising successful people? Are there certain principles for raising successful people?

The five key values needed to train successful people are:

1. TRUST

It is possible to say that there is a huge confidence gap in the whole world. For example, employees don't trust their employers, students don't trust their teachers. We need to rebuild trust in our community and we need to start this at home.

2. RESPECT

Parents should respect the autonomy and personalities of their children. When choosing a path, parents should guide them by showing alternative paths. Dictating to our children about their career choices and how they should use their talents is not a very efficient method. The responsibility of parents is to support their children to achieve the goals they have set and to encourage the children to live to their full potential.

3. INDEPENDENCE

Parents should teach their children to be responsible and independent in the early years of their lives. Our children will be taught to take self-control and responsibility early in their lives to better cope with the challenges they may face when they become an adult. Being independent has nothing to do with knowing everything or having no need for anybody in their lives. Being independent is to feel safe and have the right sense of judgement when the situation around us is in chaos.

4. COLLABORATION

This skill is about our child being able to work with other people. Collaboration will be a skill that our child constantly needs in his / her daily life as he / she continues to grow. She/he will need to cooperate constantly in the classroom environment, in the sports life or in the workplace. Parents should encourage their children to participate in discussions at home to develop this ability, motivating them to share ideas and perspectives that can help solve problems.

5. A SENSE OF KINDNESS

Everyone in a society needs kindness. A sense of kindness involves being compassionate, being able to thank and forgive. Serving others is about caring for their comfort and happiness. Parents are required to practice politeness in a home environment so that their children can learn to show kindness to others. The more kindness that can be shared, the better the lives of others and the world will be.
